To our dear customers,
We hope this letter finds you well, that you enjoyed a wonderful holiday season, and have had a great start to 2022. Along with the New Year, brings changes and we’d like to share two very important changes with you all.
In an effort to streamline our business we’ve made the difficult decision to discontinue our herdshare program. As of April 4th, Duivenvoorden Farms Raw Milk will only be available for purchase at retail locations.
After much consideration, this is a necessary decision to improve the efficiency of the farm. The positive news about this change is, our milk is already so accessible in multiple retail locations.
We are lucky to work with such amazing store locations, we know you’ll be in good hands and have convenient access to our milk whenever you need it. You can find a list of the store locations that will carry Duivenvoorden Farms Raw Milk on our website.
We will sincerely miss the on-farm interaction with herd share owners and their families.
This brings us to the next change, that has been one of the hardest decisions we’ve had to make in the 59 years of Duivenvoorden Farms.
Over the past few years, retirement has been a topic of discussion and a goal on the horizon. It was not an easy conversation, as the farm has been an enormous part of our lives, our family’s lives, and of those in our community. Together, our family has made the decision to close this chapter in our family’s story and say goodbye to Duivenvoorden Farms. While this may come as a shock to most, this has been something our entire family has supported and agreed upon for some time now. As this is surely a sad decision, we are very much looking forward to this next part of our lives.
Again, words cannot possibly express the appreciation we have for the incredible support given to us by our customers over the last 14 years. Reflecting on the last 59 years, the amount of important people that helped build this farm is substantial. Starting with Jerry, Rita, John, and Nell and the generations after them, Duivenvoorden Farms would not be where it is today without the constant encouragement of our families, friends, and community.
At this time, there is no official “end date”. Our family intends to put the farm and business up for sale in the coming months and would love to see it continue as a dairy farm. This could very well be an extended time-frame due to the complexity of selling a farm and business. To be clear, we will continue providing fresh raw milk to local stores throughout this process.
We plan on keeping all of our customers up to date with new information and plans as we go.
Thank you again for so many years of support! We are so grateful to have had so many cheering us on. We’re looking forward to this next exciting stage of life!
The Duivenvoorden Family
